Bio
Sofía van der Dys is an internationally published editorial, fashion, advertising, commercial and portrait photographer born in Mendoza, Argentina and currently lives in Houston, Texas. She became fascinated with photography at the age of 10 when she recieved her first 35mm Kodak camera from her parents. Sofía’s insatiable appetite for taking pictures and looking at images is what drove her to this artistic craft. She was always praised for her eye to capurte moments but it wasn’t till 2004 that Sofía decided to make her passion into a business. She studied photography at the New York Institute of Photography (NYIP), along training with internationally published photographers Jack Reznicki, Tony Corbell and Frank
Cricchio. Sofía is also a board member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), an active member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), Texas Professional Photographers Association (TPPA), and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) to better improve her skills. Sofía’s agenda is also full of seminars and lectures to further enhance her photographic knowledge. “There is always something new and interesting to learn...” she confesses.
